Job summary

Underdog is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own the data platform powering our prediction markets business. This high-impact, zero-to-one role involves building the regulatory reporting infrastructure from the ground up, in collaboration with regulators, engineering, product, compliance, and leadership.

You will develop purpose-built dbt models, automated validations, and resilient pipelines, aiming for a platform that operates with minimal manual intervention as the function scales.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and dbt modeling for data platforms.
• Experience building and validating data pipelines.
• Experience with Python for data analysis or automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the regulatory reporting data platform and define data requirements with regulators.
• Design and architect dbt models and pipelines connected to raw data for regulatory reports.
• Define automated validation layer with test cases and alerting.
• Lead audit and exam support with regulators and internal compliance.
• Drive root-cause investigations and establish permanent fixes.
• Design and lead the on-call rotation for the team.
• Monitor upstream data changes and governance through the reporting layer.
• Own the roadmap for surveillance reporting and pre-launch validation.
