Job summary

Underdog is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own the data platform powering our prediction markets. This high-impact role builds regulatory reporting infrastructure from scratch, working with regulators and across engineering, product, compliance, and leadership to scale our data solutions.

You will design dbt models, implement automated validations, and lead on-call rotations while shaping how upstream data is monitored and governed.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and dbt experience with building modular models and tests.
• Experience with regulatory reporting, reconciliation, or audit-ready data.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into data definitions and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own the regulatory reporting data platform and define data requirements with regulators.
• Design and architect dbt models and pipelines connected to raw data for regulatory reports.
• Define automated validation layer with tests, cross-checks, and alerting.
• Lead audit/exam support and represent the team with regulators and internal compliance.
• Drive root-cause investigations and establish standards for permanent fixes.
• Design and lead the on-call rotation framework for the team.
• Monitor upstream data changes and govern through the reporting layer.
• Own the roadmap for surveillance reporting and pre-launch validation.
