Job summary

Underdog in the United States seeks an Analytics Engineer II on the Regulatory Reporting team to build the data platform powering our prediction markets. This is a zero-to-one opportunity as we scale the regulatory reporting infrastructure from the ground up.

You will develop dbt models, automated tests, and end-to-end pipelines; investigate data issues, work with engineering, product, and compliance, and participate in on-call rotations in a fast-growing, remote-friendly company.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and ability to write complex queries against raw data.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and dbt models.
• Comfortable working in a regulatory/compliance data environment.

Responsibilities

• Run daily validation across regulatory reporting submissions, verify accuracy, flag breaks, and own triage when something looks off.
• Investigate data issues end-to-end: dive into raw data, document findings, and deliver actionable next steps.
• Build and maintain dbt models purpose-built for regulatory reporting, connected to raw data and resilient to upstream changes.
• Implement automated test cases and validations to catch recurring issues before they become problems.
• Support pre-launch submission validation, audit requests, and data pulls as the function grows.
• Own the feedback loop with product and engineering: monitor upstream changes and raise issues before deadlines.
• Participate in the on-call rotation with the broader team.
