Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Regional Sales Director for the East Region within the Immunology Sales organization. This field-based leadership role leads District Managers and field reps across the Northeast U.S., driving business results and customer engagement.

The DCO will guide strategic planning, payer considerations, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring compliance and growth in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and at least 10 years in sales, marketing, or managed care within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
• At least 3 years' experience building and managing customer relationships.
• Resident of the region with travel up to 50%, including overnights.
• Experience developing regional strategic plans and omnichannel strategies.
• Strong knowledge of regional healthcare dynamics and access/reimbursement considerations.
• Track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and retain a high-performing regional team to execute customer engagement strategies.
• Own the customer portfolio and ensure trusted communications across team touchpoints.
• Build relationships with senior leaders and industry thought leaders for strategic engagement.
• Align account plans with payer considerations to optimize access and reimbursement.
• Deliver regional results and meet defined P&L targets.
• Embed a customer-centric vision across large teams, motivating at all levels.
• Contribute to national strategy through cross-functional collaboration.
• Pursue opportunities to grow the business.
• Maximize payer, patient, and HCP interactions and interdependencies.
• Set annual financial goals for the assigned customer base.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
