Job summary

First Student is seeking an Area Recruiter to support hiring across the South Region, with a primary focus on Louisiana and Mississippi. This remote role involves travel to recruiting events, schools, and partner locations, and you will partner with local leaders to manage multiple requisitions.

You will interview candidates by phone, virtual, and in person; maintain a strong candidate pipeline; coordinate onboarding; and ensure compliance with policies and employment laws.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recruiting, staffing, or talent acquisition experience (regional or high-volume recruiting preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and community partners.
• Experience with ATS platforms and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for positions within the South Region.
• Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, role requirements, and hiring timelines.
• Attend onsite recruiting events, job fairs, school visits, and community outreach initiatives.
• Represent the organization professionally at local events and partner locations.
• Utilize ATS to track candidates, interviews, and hiring metrics.
• Coordinate onboarding logistics and support a smooth candidate transition into employment.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and employment laws.
• Provide regular updates and recruiting reports to leadership.
