Job summary

First Student is seeking an Area Recruiter for the South Region with a primary focus on Louisiana and Mississippi. This remote role involves travel to support recruiting events and location-specific needs, partnering with local leaders, and managing multiple requisitions to attract talent across markets.

You will interview candidates, coordinate onboarding, use ATS, and ensure compliance, with a salary range of $65,000–$75,000 and a path for growth within a large transportation family.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in recruiting, staffing, or talent acquisition.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
• Experience with ATS and MS Office or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for positions within the North Charleston.
• Conduct phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, role requirements, and hiring timelines.
• Attend onsite recruiting events, job fairs, school visits, and community outreach initiatives.
• Represent the organization professionally at local events and partner locations.
• Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) to track candidates, interviews, and hiring metrics.
• Coordinate onboarding logistics and support a smooth candidate transition into employment.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
• Provide regular updates and recruiting reports to leadership.
