Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Regional Operations Manager for the San Diego market. You will oversee the inspection and floor plan audit team, ensure quality standards, and recruit/retain inspectors in the region. You’ll partner with Marketplace and Sales to forecast growth and schedule inspections.

The role emphasizes coaching, field work 1-2 days per week, and using data to drive regional performance. A minimum of 3 years in operations and 2 years automotive experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years relevant experience or education.
• Must have 2+ years automotive mechanical experience.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license.
• Working knowledge of submitting electronic inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Master OPENLANE policies, processes, and tools for floor plan audits and vehicle/facility inspections.
• Oversee inspectors to meet regional SLAs and targets.
• Recruit and hire inspectors (contract and FT) within the region.
• Partner with Marketplace and Sales for regional growth, forecasting, and scheduling.
• Cultivate customer relationships with dealers and OPENLANE sales to drive growth.
• Support OKR creation and execution for the region.
• Lead teams to deliver audits/inspections, including training, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure contractors meet customer requirements and standards.
• Act as primary contact for compensation, task assignment, and process updates.
• Collaborate with Product, Arbitration, Scheduling, QA on app/process improvements.
• Occasionally work in the field 1-2 days/week with inspectors.
