Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Regional Operations Manager for the Western MI region. The role focuses on hiring and coordinating inspectors, leading the team to meet quality standards, and using data to drive regional success.

You will collaborate with sales and marketplace teams to forecast growth and schedule inspections, while maintaining strong dealer relationships. You will lead training, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives, spending 1-2 days weekly in the field with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years relevant experience or education.
• Minimum of 2+ years of automotive mechanical experience.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of technology, particularly in submitting electronic inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Master OPENLANE policies, processes, procedures, and tools to complete floor plan audits and vehicle or facility inspections.
• Oversee the team of inspectors to meet regional SLAs and targets.
• Recruit and hire inspectors (contract and full-time) within the assigned region.
• Partner with Marketplace and Commercial Sales Team to support regional success, including growth forecasting and scheduling.
• Develop strong customer relationships with dealers and OPENLANE sales team to drive sales growth.
• Assist in creating and implementing OKRs for the region.
• Lead and coach Inspectors, conduct performance management, and address capacity gaps.
• Coordinate with Product; Arbitration; Scheduling; and Quality Assurance for process improvements.
