Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. seeks a Regional Manager to lead underwriting, marketing, production, and portfolio profitability for a Commercial Surety region.

This senior role drives growth, guides agency development, and ensures adherence to underwriting guidelines and risk appetite. The role is highly market-facing, with remote candidates in Texas or Louisiana; frequent travel to key accounts and events will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Typically 5+ years in underwriting roles within the surety industry.
• Advanced degree or professional certifications (AFSB, CPCU) preferred.
• Proven success developing agency relationships and generating profitable growth.
• Willingness to travel throughout assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead underwriter for the assigned territory.
• Analyze, evaluate, and approve commercial surety submissions within delegated authority.
• Review and assess financial statements, interim reports, bank agreements, tax returns and other underwriting information.
• Structure and negotiate underwriting terms, collateral requirements and indemnity agreements.
• Determine capacity, pricing and terms for new and renewal business.
• Monitor portfolio performance and take corrective action to achieve profitability objectives.
• Develop and execute regional marketing and production plans.
• Build and strengthen relationships with brokers and agents.
• Own profit and loss results for the region and manage portfolio metrics.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop commercial surety underwriters.
• Deliver responsive service to brokers and insureds; travel to maintain relationships.
