Job summary

The Vermont Emergency Management Regional Coordinator will lead coordination with regional and national emergency response initiatives, planning, training, and exercises for Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. This home-based role requires travel within the region and a valid driver's license.

You will work under the Engagement Section Chief, interfacing with public safety and government officials. Applicants need a degree in emergency management or related field with 3+ years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, homeland security, or related field with 3+ years in emergency preparedness or response.
• OR 5+ years in emergency preparedness or response with adult training experience.
• Preferred: experience in administration, planning, or development of emergency management programs and/or policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, train, exercise, and research emergency operations and management.
• Collaborate with regional, state, and federal partners; travel within region.
• Work from home within one hour of region served; valid driver's license required.
• Provide briefings and support to local municipalities during disasters.
