Job summary

Southwest Minnesota State University is seeking a Regional Admissions Counselor to recruit prospective students in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area from an assigned market. The role requires extensive day-time travel within the territory and occasional campus trainings.

Residence in the Twin Cities area is preferred, with telework option available for certain activities. A bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills are required, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in a related field or two years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training, education and/or professional experience.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Public presentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit prospective students through management of an assigned market recruitment area.
  • Conduct high school visits, career fairs, community presentations, special events, and assist in outreach activities.
  • Extensive day-time travel within the assigned territory is required.
  • Residence in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with occasional travel to the campus for trainings and events as needed.
