Job summary

International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Training Officer to lead capacity-building for newcomer and refugee services. The role combines training delivery, technical assistance, and resource development to strengthen service providers across the U.S.

You will manage a portfolio of trainings, collaborate with subject-matter experts, and contribute to program monitoring and evaluation. This is a remote role with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., MSW) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of direct service experience with refugees and/or ORR-eligible populations.
• Experience providing training and technical assistance to build capacity of refugee service providers.
• Experience delivering client-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based services for refugees.
• Experience providing pre- and post-arrival services to newcomers, connecting them to education, financial, medical and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training related to refugee and newcomer services (webinars, self-paced, e-learning, in-person).
• Provide consultation and resources via email/virtual meetings to refugee service providers across the U.S.
• Produce written learning resources (guides, blogs, toolkits).
• Incorporate feedback from internal and external reviewers.
• Lead multimedia resources (e-learning modules, videos, podcasts) with cross-team collaboration.
• Coordinate a monthly community of practice on refugee/newcomer topics.
• Support Switchboard’s annual TTA workplan and ensure trainings are delivered on time and on budget.
• Monitor TTA outputs and outcomes, analyze feedback data with M&E team.
