Job summary

National Forest Foundation invites a Reforestation Senior Specialist to lead the National Enterprise Programs, guiding complex budgets, staff, and national projects from nursery operations to post-planting monitoring. You will work with USFS and NGO partners to advance holistic restoration across the United States.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in forestry/restoration, GIS proficiency, and strong leadership skills, with the ability to travel and operate remotely.

Qualifications

• Master’s preferred in forestry or related field.
• Minimum 5 years professional forestry/restoration experience.
• Knowledge of forest ecosystems and native tree species.
• Familiarity with US Forest Service procedures and reforestation practices.
• Proficiency with GIS, GPS, and data management systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel; ability to work remotely.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead national reforestation programs and budgets.
• Supervise remote field staff and foster mentorship.
• Collaborate with the U.S. Forest Service and partners to advance initiatives.
• Develop and implement national/regional reforestation resources system.
• Monitor and report program outcomes and impact metrics.
• Support fundraising and relationship-building with donors and partners.
• Align projects with NFF mission and strategic goals.
