Job summary

National Forest Foundation is seeking a part-time Special Projects Lead to partner with the Chief Conservation Officer and leadership team. You will guide high-priority conservation projects, improve cross-functional collaboration, and drive execution from planning through completion.

The role focuses on wildfire resilience, land restoration, and recreation initiatives, with flexible remote work across the lower 48 states and occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 7–10 years in nonprofit leadership, conservation programs, strategy or operations.
  • Experience leading complex projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and advance high-impact special projects with leadership.
  • Develop systems for communication, accountability, and decision making.
  • Prepare briefing materials, agendas, and talking points for meetings and events.
  • Lead planning meetings, monitor progress and surface risks early.
  • Drive projects that support growth, impact, and operational excellence.
  • Capture metrics to illustrate conservation impacts for audiences.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and program staff on partnerships and proposals.
  • Represent leadership in meetings and maintain external relationships.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational planning.
