Job summary

University of Rochester is hiring a Referral and Prior Auth Representative for Imaging Services. This remote role supports New York operations, coordinating referrals and obtaining prior authorizations for imaging and related procedures.

You will interact with patients, families, and clinical staff to ensure timely, compliant processing. Minimum education is a high school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience; familiarity with EMR and scheduling software is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology is required.
• Experience with EMR systems and scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees data and ensures compliance with referral and prior authorization guidelines.
• Communicates with patients, families, clinical and non-clinical staff to identify barriers to appointment compliance.
• Plans, executes, and follows through on referrals and prior authorization processes.
• Acts as liaison between referring offices, specialists and patients to coordinate visits.
• Obtains and documents insurance authorizations for visits and imaging.
