Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• AAS in related field most helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in person or by phone with a cheerful, helpful attitude.
• Coordinate testing with physician, patient, facility and payer; obtain third-party approvals.
• Obtain procedure and diagnosis codes for authorization/pre-certification.
• Refer self-pay and out-of-network patients to payment resources.
• Complete pre-certification/authorization with patient’s insurer and document details.
• Notify patients of scheduled procedures and required instructions.
• Coordinate arrival times with hospital/facility and communicate details to patients.
• Review and revise scheduling policies and procedures as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of department equipment and supplies.

Education
