Job summary

VIPCARE in Florida/Remote is seeking a Referral Coordinator who will coordinate inbound and outbound patient referrals, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and ensure necessary records are exchanged to support timely care.

You will work with clinics, providers, and patients, maintain EMR documentation, follow HIPAA requirements, and help remove barriers to referral completion while delivering compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of administrative, scheduling, customer service, or related experience.
• Experience in healthcare environment preferred but not required.
• Prior referral coordination, medical reception, or scheduling experience preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR is preferred but not required.
• Experience with EMR systems (eCW or similar) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound patient referrals ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review provider orders, contact patients and offices, and assist with scheduling within VIPcare clinics.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information; confirm referral and authorization requirements.
• Communicate referral instructions to patients and address scheduling barriers or questions.
• Maintain EMR documentation and track referral activity to support timely care.
