Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach is seeking a Referral Specialist for our CAC Department. You will act as a liaison between providers, patients and insurance, scheduling appointments and verifying eligibility.

Responsibilities include managing orders, pre-registering patients, transcribing orders, and maintaining data accuracy. Remote position with on-site travel when connectivity or power issues occur.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of scheduling procedures and preregistration.
• Experience with insurance eligibility is preferred.
• Epic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between providers, patients, insurance companies and clinical departments to schedule patients, verify insurance eligibility, and transcribe orders.
• Manage orders within assigned work queues.
• Schedule patients and confirm insurance eligibility through the real-time eligibility tool or pre-register patients.
• Validate accuracy of data when performing these functions.
