Job summary

Global Impact Group LLC seeks Mixtec Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support USCIS contracts in a fully remote capacity. The role requires native Mixtec and English, with at least 2 years of professional interpreting experience in immigration-related contexts. Candidates must be U.S.

citizens or permanent residents eligible for Tier 3/5 clearance. We offer flexible scheduling, paid training, and opportunities for advancement within a federal-contract framework, with consistent assignments

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Mixtec and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration or related fields preferred).
• Cultural knowledge of indigenous Mexican communities.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Mixtec to English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings.
• Interpret accurately, impartially, and with cultural sensitivity in immigration and legal contexts.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics standards.
• Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
• Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
