Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP invites you to join as a Junior Analyst Intern, performing multifamily real estate market research and analysis for the Valuation Services Department. You will collect data, assist in market analysis, and analyze regional economic trends under supervision.

You will interact with housing authorities, developers and brokers to gather information, synthesize findings, and contribute to market studies and appraisals for developments.

Qualifications

• In progress of earning a bachelor's degree in related area.
• Experience in real estate research, multifamily market analysis or commercial appraisal is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with primary research and written synthesis.
• Display strong analytical skills; gather information, conduct analyses and present findings.
• Solid organizational and follow-through skills; accurate work with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, varied workload with shifting priorities.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Available for domestic travel as needed, including driving or air/train travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic economic and locational research for market areas via phone and internet resources.
• Perform apartment property interviews, market analysis, surveys and demand analysis.
• Phone interviews with housing authorities, planners, senior centers and chambers to identify market demand.
• Interviews with property managers to gather market conditions.
• Gather information on new multifamily developments by talking to developers and researching newspapers and online sources.
• Request information from appraisers/brokers on comparable properties.
• Analyze demographic information and trends related to affordable housing demand.
• Assist in writing market studies and appraisals for developments.
• Compare rental vs. ownership dynamics and analyze building trends.
• Perform administrative tasks when needed and support other projects.
