Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Junior Real Estate Analyst to support the Valuation Services team with market research, data collection, and analysis of economic trends in designated regions.

You will conduct market studies, gather comparables, and assist in appraisals and reports, reporting to a Manager or Principal; office-based during the initial months with potential for flexible arrangements after, depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 1–2 years of Real Estate research, market analysis, or commercial appraisal experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for primary and web-based research.
• Strong analytical skills to gather, analyze and present findings.
• Solid organizational and follow-through abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct economic and market research regarding market areas via telephone interviews and internet resources.
• Identify subsidized, tax credit and market rate comparables.
• Perform preliminary property screenings, market analysis, and demand analysis.
• Interview housing authorities, planners, senior centers, and chambers of commerce to understand demand.
• Gather and analyze information on new developments by speaking to developers and reviewing sources.
• Assist in appraisals of proposed and existing real estate developments.
• Analyze housing market trends by comparing rents, home prices, and building activity.
• Complete Novogradac’s Affordable Housing Training & Assessment Program within designated timeframes.
