Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Real Estate Construction Director for national scope with remote work options and up to 30% travel. Lead strategic construction initiatives, align with regional and global standards, and drive sustainability in logistics real estate projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field and 10+ years in civil engineering or construction management, with strong budgeting, tendering, and contract oversight capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 10+ years of civil engineering or construction management experience.
• Willingness to travel 25–30%.
• Thorough knowledge of construction processes, materials and standards.
• Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and control large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new logistics real estate projects including design, permitting, tendering, program planning, budget planning, and budget/schedule management.
• Prepare technical feasibility studies and coordinate technical due diligence.
• Draft key technical documents (specifications, permit applications, tender documents, contract appointments).
• Represent the company in front of customers, potential customers, governmental authorities and general contractors.
• Obtain administrative approvals and permits.
• Lead feasibility studies and comment on technical solutions.
• Prepare project development budgets.
• Supervise the solicitation (tender) process for the general contractor and other professional services providers.
• Report on the progress of the development to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project costs while anticipating corrective actions to meet budgets.
• Coordinate with internal project and technical managers and external experts.
• Provide value-engineering during solution development phase to determine best option for client.
