Job summary

Anthropic Limited seeks a Data Center Power Generation and Microgrids Engineer to lead on-site generation, storage, and grid-interconnection strategies for a portfolio of data centers. You will design, size, and optimize prime movers, storage, and controls to ensure reliable load power with fast response to step-loads.

You will work cross-functionally with infrastructure, hardware, and compute teams, coordinating with utilities and ISOs. Expect travel for reviews and testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years in power generation, microgrids, or interconnection for critical facilities.
Experience with on-site generation and energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

Lead behind-the-meter generation architecture across a multi-site portfolio.
Define day-1 and day-N plant sizing, expansion strategies, and grid tie plans.
Characterize data center load for external generation partners to optimize sizing.
Model generation response against ML training load and define acceptance criteria.
Oversee temporary and bridging generation strategies for energization.
Ensure NFPA, emissions, and environmental/code compliance across designs.
