Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking an experienced Heat Trace Designer/Project Manager to lead design, estimating, procurement, and execution of electric heat-tracing projects. The role combines technical design with project coordination across disciplines to ensure on-time delivery and compliant installations.

The successful candidate will develop scopes, perform material and labor takeoffs, and prepare professional proposals. Hybrid work arrangement available with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience designing heat-trace systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Ability to develop scope, estimates, and execution plans.
• Coordination with piping, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

Responsibilities

• Heat-Trace Design: review drawings, identify heat tracing needs, perform heat-loss calculations, select cables and accessories.
• Develop heat-trace and cable schedules, load summaries, bills of material, and installation details.
• Prepare design drawings and layouts using AutoCAD/Plant 3D and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Estimating and Proposal Development: perform takeoffs, define scope, and prepare lump-sum estimates.
• Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors and draft professional proposals.
