Job summary

Unbound Academy seeks a Virtual Reading Specialist to deliver targeted reading interventions for grades 3–8. You’ll use assessment data to guide instruction, differentiate for diverse levels, and track progress to inform the next sessions.

You’ll conduct motivation check-ins to build confidence and persistence, with hybrid work in Arizona. A relevant degree and dyslexia training are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field.
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification).
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches).
• At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8.
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties.
• Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction.
• Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication.
• Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver virtual small-group and one-on-one reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
• Use reading assessment data to target fluency and comprehension gaps and adjust instruction quickly
• Differentiate activities across multiple reading levels, including support for dyslexia and related reading difficulties
• Track progress in a clear, consistent way and use the data to plan the next sessions
• Run structured motivation check-ins that build confidence, persistence, and pride in growth
• Own outcomes for grades 3–8—measurable gains in fluency and comprehension—by delivering personalized virtual interventions and motivation support that builds confidence.
