Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a RCCR Supervisor II in Houston to lead a unit responsible for investigations and monitoring of residential child care facilities, child placing agencies, and foster/adoptive homes. This role ensures compliance with standards, advises on corrective actions, and collaborates with DFPS and other agency staff to protect children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human services or related field.
• Experience supervising staff in regulatory or child-care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff development: manage, develop, and evaluate staff performance and regulatory actions.
• Unit management: plan operations, monitor caseloads, review regulation activities, drive improvements.
• Enforcement actions: identify when to recommend enforcement and implement corrective actions.
• Professional development: maintain current knowledge of child care regulation and safety standards.
• Community engagement: participate in meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and inform public audiences.
