Job summary

VulnCheck is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Rapid Response organization with regionally-based teams in the US, UK, and APAC. You will guide senior ICs, set technical standards, and balance urgent pre-sales requests with long-term platform work.

This 100% remote role requires strong leadership, collaboration with Customer Success and Sales, and a proven ability to prioritize across time zones. Preference for candidates in MA, MD, or Greater Austin TX, with deep experience in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing software engineers, ideally across distributed or multi-region teams.
• Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence.
• Experience managing customer-facing, support, sustaining, or reliability engineering teams.
• Ability to prioritize and sequence competing demands across time zones and regions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow engineering teams based in the US, UK, and APAC, providing hands-on people leadership, coaching, and career development
• Set priorities across urgent pre-sales requests, urgent customer issues, customer feature requests, and backend maintenance/integration work, balancing reactive and proactive work
• Ensure continuous, follow-the-sun coverage for urgent customer and pre-sales needs across time zones
• Partner closely with Customer Success and Sales leadership to translate customer needs into engineering plans
• Partner with Product and other Engineering teams to ensure customer-driven work is integrated into the platform roadmap
• Own the team's engineering quality bar, including code quality and long-term fixes
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management across all regional teams
• Establish and refine on-call, escalation, and incident response processes
• Report on team health, throughput, and customer outcomes to leadership
• Remove blockers and stay close to technical work to make credible calls
