Job summary

American Rail Engineers Corporation (ARE) seeks a Director of Engineering Services to lead its structural engineering practice across North America. You will provide strategic direction, ensure technical excellence, and drive successful, on-time project delivery for railway bridge work.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and foster client relationships while pursuing licensure and expanding services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 12+ years of structural engineering with railroad bridge design experience.
• 3+ years of leading engineers and project teams.
• Active PE license in at least one state; multi-state licensure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AREMA design standards and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead ARE’s bridge design team for rehabilitation, replacement, and repairs.
• Set direction and plan for the structural design group and manage resources.
• Ensure QA/QC and timely delivery of calculations, drawings, and reports.
• Develop staff professionally and mentor engineers toward licensure.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support business growth.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and scopes to meet goals.
