Job summary

ARE Corporation seeks a Director of Engineering Services to lead and grow its structural engineering practice for North American freight railways. You will provide strategic direction, ensure technical excellence, and oversee complex projects from proposal to completion.

This full-time role offers an office in Overland Park, KS or remote work options, with a focus on staff development, QA/QC, and strong client partnerships to drive growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field required.
• Active PE license in at least one state; multi-state licensure preferred.
• Extensive experience in railroad bridge design, rehabilitation, and replacement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design team on railroad bridge projects including rehabilitation, replacement, and related structures.
• Ensure quality through QA/QC programs and compliance with AREMA design standards.
• Develop staff, mentor engineers, and support licensure progression.
• Manage budgets, schedules, scopes, and client relationships.
