Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification required.
• ROCC (Radiation Oncology Certified Coder) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate charge levels with ICD specificity.
• Review Medicare Local Coverage Articles, bulletins, and NCCI.
• Pre-claim review of held charges and processing within 3 business days.
• Meet metrics for charge capture accuracy and QA sign-off.
• Verify documentation meets code requirements; escalate trends to Coding Manager.
• Coordinate with denials and inquiries to ensure accuracy of AR.
• Ensure appropriate authorizations are obtained per physician orders.
• Assist training of new staff and coverage during vacations.
• Maintain coding roadmaps for all patients as directed.
