Job summary

Nest Veterinary is seeking a QA Software Engineer to help build and scale quality practices for care-plan software used by veterinary hospitals. This remote role (US or Canada) reports to the CTO and focuses on Flutter web/desktop, FastAPI/gRPC services, and AI-assisted testing workflows.

You will own test suites, release checks, and reliability standards, with an emphasis on risk-focused coverage and AI-assisted test generation.

Qualifications

3+ years in QA, SDET, or test automation with an automation-first approach.
Experience using AI tools in testing (Claude, Copilot, Codex) with real examples.
Strong Dart and Flutter testing experience: unit, widget, golden, integration tests.
Ability to drive API tests with AI and Postman.
SQL knowledge to validate data and set up test data in a relational DBMS.

Responsibilities

Build test suites for Flutter web and desktop applications and FastAPI and gRPC services.
Write contract and integration tests for critical APIs, including payment processing and PIMS integrations.
Use LLMs to generate test cases from specs, pull requests, and code diffs, and curate the output into a maintained suite.
Use AI-assisted exploratory testing to surface edge cases across app state, API responses, and UI structure.
Set up visual regression testing for our admin and hospital-facing interfaces.
Define error budgets, alert thresholds, and resilience tests with engineering.
Create defect triage workflows and quality reporting that show coverage and release readiness.
