Job summary

nesto is hiring a Senior QA Automation Developer / Senior Software Developer in Test to join a remote-first Canadian team. The role focuses on building robust automated test suites with Playwright, integrating with CI/CD, and elevating QA practices across UI and API testing.

You will collaborate with developers, PMs, and staff QA engineers, applying AI-driven approaches and modern testing methodologies to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA experience in testing SaaS/cloud applications.
• 2+ years of hands‑on automation framework experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Automation‑first mindset with CI/CD integration.
• Full‑stack testing across UI and API layers.
• Experience with test management/reporting tools like Allure TestOps.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test suites using Playwright.
• Partner with Developers and Product Managers to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to quality across UI and API testing and leverage telemetry for improvements.
• Leverage AI to support QA automation development tasks.
• Improve processes, documentation, and team workflows.
• Stay current with new tools and testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with Staff QA Automation Developers to improve QA practices.
• Define comprehensive test plans from design documents and assist with UAT.
