Job summary

Metrc, a leading provider of cannabis regulatory systems, seeks a Software Quality Assurance Lead to drive testing strategy and quality across products. You will mentor QA Analysts, define test plans, and partner with Product & Development to improve processes in a fast-growing tech environment.

The role blends hands-on QA with leadership, mentoring, and release readiness. It supports in-office and remote work options, offering opportunities to shape testing across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of software QA methodology, process and tools in web testing environment.
• 3+ years of relevant software testing and software quality assurance experience, including 1+ years leading a team of QA Analysts.
• Experience in Agile or Waterfall software development process.
• Written/Verbal communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and provide guidance to QA team members.
• Develop a thorough understanding of how our products work.
• Provide input to the Product and Development teams from the QA perspective.
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, coordinating QA resources.
• Develop and ensure test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures are completed and executed.
• Review the work of QA Analysts for coverage, quality planning and execution.
• Track QA progress with testing and provide status reports to management.
• Establish standards and metrics for readiness of a feature or build.
• Research QA best practices and assess feasibility of implementations.
• Develop tools to improve testing efficiency and documentation.
• Develop processes to increase testing coverage and automation.
• Communicate clearly with team members and internal stakeholders.
