Job summary

Metrc is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to own testing strategy, release readiness, and process improvement. You will design robust testing plans, mentor QA Analysts, and partner with Product & Development to ensure high-quality software releases in a fast-paced environment.

The role combines in-office and remote work, emphasizing rigorous test development, standards, and effective collaboration across teams to deliver reliable cannabis regulatory software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject strongly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of software QA methodology, process and tools in web testing environment
• 3+ years of relevant software testing and software quality assurance experience, including 1+ years leading a team of QA Analysts
• Passionate about ensuring that releases are of high quality
• Continuous improvement mindset – identify gaps in process or approach and implement changes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Experience working in an Agile or Waterfall software development process
• Accountable & Dependable
• Written/Verbal communication proficiency

• Provide input to the Product and Development teams from the QA perspective
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases and coordinate QA resources
• Develop and ensure test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures are completed and executed
• Review the work of QA Analysts to ensure coverage and quality
• Track QA progress and provide status reports to management
• Establish standards and metrics for readiness of a feature or build
• Research QA best practices and assess feasibility of implementations
• Develop tools to improve testing efficiency and documentation
• Develop processes to increase testing coverage and automation
• Communicate clearly with team members and internal stakeholders
• Any other task as assigned or required
