Job summary

Lirio, a technology/software company specializing in behavioral science and AI-driven health interventions, is seeking a Software QA Lead Engineer for a fully remote role with an option to hybrid in Tennessee. The role leads QA strategy across cloud-native platforms, UI, APIs, and data integrations in a regulated healthcare setting.

You will mentor QA engineers, build automation frameworks, and ensure secure, observable, and audit-ready releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related field required/strongly preferred.
• 5–7+ years of related experience in QA/Quality Assurance leadership.
• Experience with API/service test automation (JUnit/TestNG, PyTest).
• UI automation experience with Cypress/Playwright/Jasmine where applicable.
• Performance testing tools experience (Gatling, k6, JMeter).
• Contract testing (Pact or equivalent).
• Observability tooling familiarity (Datadog/OpenTelemetry).
• CI/CD, Git, and modern software development practices.
• Strong scripting/programming in Java, TypeScript, Groovy, Python.
• Kafka and data/event-driven testing foundations.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy across APIs, services, event-driven systems, and UI.
• Expand automated test coverage (unit, integration, contract, end-to-end).
• Maintain risk-based manual testing where automation is impractical.
• Promote TDD, CI quality gates, and testability in design.
• Define quality gates in CI/CD and ensure release readiness with observability.
• Mentor QA engineers and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Cloud/SRE.
• Develop and maintain QA playbooks, processes, and knowledge sharing.
• Support production releases and drive root cause analysis with teams.
• Triage defects and drive process improvements.
