Job summary

CAI is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to elevate software quality for government/public sector projects. The role is a full-time contract, currently remote with possible onsite in Chicago, IL.

You will develop test strategies, drive both manual and automated testing, and ensure compliance with accessibility and security standards using Selenium, Playwright, and API testing. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of QA or software testing experience, preferably in government/public sector.
• Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience with SDLC frameworks including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall.
• Hands-on with automation tools such as Selenium/TestComplete/QTP; API testing experience.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools; strong communication.
• Understanding of data privacy requirements including PII.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, cases, and scripts across functional and regression testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or ServiceNow; work with dev teams to resolve.
• Drive QA for software releases, including manual and automated testing.
• Coordinate UAT sessions with stakeholders and document results for sign-off.
• Validate systems meet business, security, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium/Playwright.
• Perform API testing and verify data integrity across integrated systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retros.
• Prepare QA status reports, defect analysis, and test summaries.
• Collaborate with business analysts to improve testability early in lifecycle.
