Job summary

CAI is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our remote, full-time contract role, supporting government and public sector IT projects. You will develop and execute test strategies, drive continuous testing improvements, and ensure compliance with security and accessibility standards.

You will lead both manual and automated testing efforts, develop automation frameworks with Selenium/Playwright, and coordinate UAT with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of QA or software testing experience, preferably within government or public sector environments
• Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies
• Experience working within SDLC frameworks including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, QTP, or similar
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools
• Experience with API testing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to non-technical stakeholders
• Understanding of data privacy requirements including PII and regulated data handling
• Preferred: 508/WCAG accessibility testing, performance testing tools, government/Public sector experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts across functional, regression, integration, UAT, and smoke testing
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or ServiceNow, with timely resolution
• Drive QA efforts for software releases, including manual and automated testing
• Support UAT by coordinating sessions, documenting results, and facilitating sign-off
• Validate systems meet business requirements, security standards, and accessibility requirements
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, or similar
• Conduct API testing and validate data integrity across integrated systems
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Prepare and deliver QA status reports, defect analysis, and test summaries
• Document test cases, steps, and expected results clearly
• Collaborate with business analysts to review requirements and identify gaps in testability
• Communicate effectively with developers and stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, templates, and standards
