Job summary

DEFCON AI, Inc. is an insights company delivering AI-enabled decision support to optimize complex systems. The QA Engineer will own the test plan, automated coverage, and evidence that deliveries meet specifications, working with engineering, platform, and product teams to ensure quality before releases.

You will build executable test coverage, translate product acceptance criteria into tests, and uphold release governance with rigorous documentation and evidence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software quality engineering, test automation or related ownership.
• Clear point of view on testing best practices and standards.
• Routine use of AI-assisted development with human verification.
• Experience building automated test suites and integrating into CI/CD as release gates.
• Experience owning a test plan through review and acceptance.
• Testing against requirements with product owners or end users.
• Performance and load testing experience with defined expectations.
• Statistical literacy and sampling design for measurement.
• Willingness to report unfavorable results and keep measurements independent.
• Ability to gate work owned by non-direct reports with credibility.
• Audit-ready written documentation for test evidence.

Responsibilities

• Own the system test plan, acceptance criteria, and evidence before releases.
• Build and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD as gates.
• Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing with customers.
• Maintain regression coverage across releases and evidence that tests pass.
• Measure and report system misses and correct behavior, with independent evidence.
• Produce release-test reports, evaluation records, and rollback criteria.
