Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to advance an automation-first QA mandate within the BASIS program. The role focuses on developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests across the full deployment pipeline in a DoD environment and Government DevSecOps.

This remote position involves guidance to engineers and QA leads to expand automated coverage and ensure zero defects to production.

Qualifications

Experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles.
Foundational understanding of test automation principles and experience writing automated test scripts in at least one automation framework or scripting language (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, Java, or equivalent).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.
Understanding of software testing lifecycle including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for unit, integration, and end-to-end functional testing.
Ensure all automated test cases are executable by the end of each Agile sprint and delivered for incorporation into the DevSecOps pipeline.
Support Test-Driven Development (TDD) by writing test cases with developers.
Document test activities, results, and defects in the Government-provided system.
Participate in code reviews and QA metrics reporting.
