Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Python Developer / Software Engineering Technical Lead for a remote role. You will act as the technical bridge between a Forward Deployed Engineer and an offshore team, delivering 50% hands-on Python backend work (FastAPI/Flask) and 50% leadership, code reviews, and architectural direction.

You will mentor distributed engineers, design REST APIs with OpenAPI, and coordinate offshore delivery, CI/CD, and production support, with potential relocation to Austin, TX

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend Python experience.
• Proven technical leadership of distributed teams.
• Strong REST API design and OpenAPI experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and container orchestration.
• Ability to translate requirements into actionable work.

Responsibilities

• Spend ~50% hands-on coding in Python backend services (FastAPI/Flask).
• Translate architecture and product requirements into technical work.
• Serve as escalation point for offshore developers and make design decisions.
• Lead code reviews, enforce standards, and ensure production readiness.
• Plan technically, estimate work, and manage risks and dependencies.
• Support production operations via debugging and runbooks.
• Mentor onboard distributed engineers and share knowledge.
• Coordinate with FDE, PO, Scrum Master, QA, and architecture stakeholders.
