Job summary

CAI is seeking a Python/GenAI Developer to build and support enterprise AI applications with Python, Generative AI integration, and cloud deployment. You will design backend services, APIs, and AI workflows using LLMs, RAG, and FastAPI, with Google Cloud technologies.

The role emphasizes secure, scalable AI solutions and collaboration with business and technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a remote contract position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-7 years of software development experience with Python backend development.
• Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience with Generative AI and LLM-based apps including prompt engineering.
• Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience with RAG solutions including document ingestion, embeddings, and vector retrieval.
• Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks; authentication and async processing.
• Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform services: Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, IAM, Secret Manager.
• Experience with cloud-native development: Docker, CI/CD, deployment workflows, and runtime troubleshooting.
• Experience processing structured/unstructured data: JSON, CSV, Excel, PDF, Word.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for AI-enabled apps.
• Build Generative AI workflows using LLMs, RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, and structured outputs.
• Develop FastAPI-based REST endpoints for file processing, pipelines, and external integrations.
• Implement retrieval workflows using GCP services like Vertex AI, Cloud Run, and BigQuery.
• Create data-processing logic for structured/unstructured inputs and downstream persistence.
• Support testing, deployment, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting across environments.
• Collaborate with architects, cloud teams, and stakeholders to translate requirements into features.
