Job summary

CAI is seeking a Python/GenAI Developer to build and support Python-based AI applications, leveraging Generative AI, LLMs, and cloud deployment. You will design backend services, implement AI workflows, and collaborate with stakeholders across the software lifecycle.

The role emphasizes secure, scalable AI solutions, using FastAPI, GCP services, and data processing, with a remote, contract arrangement and a strong focus on production readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-7 years of software development experience with strong Python backend development
• Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience with Generative AI and LLM-based applications
• Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience with RAG solutions including document ingestion and embeddings
• Experience building REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, IAM, and Secret Manager
• Experience integrating AI/ML services into enterprise applications via APIs and cloud-native services
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and deployment workflows
• Familiarity with Agile delivery teams and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for AI-enabled applications
• Build and integrate Generative AI workflows using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and prompt orchestration
• Develop FastAPI-based REST endpoints for file processing and pipeline execution
• Implement retrieval workflows using GCP services like Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub
• Develop data-processing logic for structured and unstructured inputs
• Support testing, deployment, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting across environments
• Collaborate with architects, cloud teams, product owners to translate requirements into features
• Contribute to prompt engineering, output validation, error handling, and guardrails
• Maintain API contracts and deployment artifacts
