Job summary

CAI is seeking a Python/GenAI Developer to build and support enterprise AI applications. You will develop Python-based backend services and AI solutions with LLMs, via FastAPI, and deploy on Google Cloud.

This remote, contract role emphasizes secure, scalable AI-enabled applications across the full software lifecycle. Responsibilities include designing APIs, integrating GenAI workflows, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable features.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-7 years of software development experience with strong Python backend development
• 1-2 years of Generative AI and LLM-based applications experience
• 1-2 years of practical experience with RAG solutions including embeddings and retrieval
• Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask; authentication and async processing
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Run, Vertex AI, BigQuery, Pub/Sub)
• Experience with containerization, CI/CD, and cloud deployment workflows
• Exposure to debugging distributed or cloud-hosted applications and Agile delivery teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for AI-enabled applications
• Build Generative AI workflows using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and prompt orchestration
• Develop FastAPI-based REST endpoints to support file processing and pipeline execution
• Implement retrieval workflows using GCP services (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, BigQuery)
• Develop data-processing logic for structured and unstructured inputs
• Support integration testing, deployment, logging, and monitoring of AI apps across environments
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into features
• Contribute to prompt engineering, output validation, and error handling to improve reliability
• Maintain API contracts, configuration files, and deployment artefacts
