Job summary

The Brazos River Authority is seeking a Legislative & Governmental Affairs Coordinator to build and maintain relationships with customers, elected officials, community groups, and municipalities. You will support BRA’s legislative strategies, work with local decision makers, and communicate BRA priorities to influence public policy.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the LGA Manager and Public Information Officer, attending public meetings, and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Residing within a 50-mile radius of The Texas State Capitol.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and a Good Driving Record.
• Minimum three years' experience in local/regional/state government and public relations.
• Bachelor's degree in related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, elected officials, community organizations, and municipalities for BRA.
• Assist with BRA legislative strategies and communicate BRA priorities to local/state elected officials.
• Coordinate communication strategies with LGA Manager and Public Information Officer.
• Attend and speak at public meetings; interact with media and the public.
• Provide reports to management and work with outside consultants.
