Job summary

The Brazos River Authority seeks a Legislative & Governmental Affairs Coordinator to build and maintain relationships with officials, communities, and stakeholders. The role supports BRA legislative strategies, coordinates with public information officers, and represents BRA at public meetings and events.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and residency within 50 miles of the Texas State Capitol; a Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Residency within 50 miles of Texas State Capitol
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and a good driving record
• Minimum three years' experience in local/regional/state government and public relations (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, elected officials, community organizations, and municipalities for BRA.
• Assist with BRA legislative strategies and government/public affairs.
• Communicate BRA priorities to local/state elected officials to support legislative efforts.
• Coordinate communication strategies with LGA Manager and Public Information Officer.
• Attend public meetings and liaise with media and the public.
