Job summary

The American Heart Association is offering a remote internship based in Central Florida for college students pursuing public health and related fields. You will support nutrition security work, health education strategies, and create culturally competent resources to prevent or manage cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and stroke.

You will gain hands-on experience in a non-profit health organization, with access to Heart U and local and national training resources to help you grow

Qualifications

• Seniors or graduate students pursuing public health/related degree.
• Willingness to travel to local events and meetings.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint; Canva basics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and implementing community health initiatives and programs.
• Support work around hypertension control, nutrition insecurity, and tobacco/vaping.
• Engage rural healthcare centers and assist with program evaluations.
• Develop communication pieces and identify impact stories for sharing.
