The internship is remote with the intern basing in Oklahoma; time commitment is 20–25 hours per week from 1/25/27 to 5/7/27, with occasional travel to Tulsa and Oklahoma City for events and meetings.

Qualifications

• Seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in public health, community health, advocacy, or related field.
• Willingness to travel between Tulsa and Oklahoma City for events occasionally.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to learn quickly with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and basic Canva knowledge.
• Required equipment: reliable Wi‑Fi connection and reliable transportation.
• Minimum availability: 20 hrs/wk, M-F between 9am-5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing community health initiatives and programs.
• Support work around hypertension, nutrition insecurity, and tobacco/vaping.
• Engage rural healthcare centers and community organizations.
• Assist with internal program evaluations.
• Support the Nation of Lifesavers Council to improve community readiness in Oklahoma.
• Assist in communicating impact and developing resources.
• Plan and implement trainings and community impact meetings.
• Attend health fairs and events as needed.
