Job summary

The American Heart Association invites students to join a remote internship based in Central Florida, working 25 hours per week from 1/25/27 to 5/7/27. Qualifications

• Senior or graduate students pursuing public health, community health, advocacy or related degree.
• Willingness to travel to local events and meetings.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Fast learner with attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint; basic Canva knowledge.
• Reliable Wi‑Fi and transportation required.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M‑F 9am‑5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and implementing community health initiatives.
• Support work on hypertension, nutrition insecurity, tobacco/vaping.
• Engage rural healthcare centers.
• Assist internal program evaluations and communicate impact.
• Develop resources and playbooks meeting community needs.
• Identify impact stories; conduct research and interviews.
• Create and manage a volunteer database and communications.
• Collaborate with local organizations for opportunities.
