Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services seeks a Public Benefits Specialist 4 (CPSS) to join the Virtual Case Management Center. The role involves evaluating eligibility for public assistance, conducting in-depth client interviews, and coordinating service plans with referrals to BFET, TANF, and related programs.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher and 12 months of PBS experience or equivalent combined education/experience, plus completion of the PBS Training

Responsibilities

  • Determine and re-determin eligibility for public assistance programs.
  • Conduct intensive client interviews and orientations to programs.
  • Perform complex duties in financial eligibility and policy interpretation.
  • Develop service plans and referrals to appropriate programs.
  • Monitor progress and update service plans; remove barriers.
  • Read and apply WAC, RCW, and procedural manuals.
