Job summary

AVTECH Global is seeking an experienced Aircraft Certification Engineer — Propulsion to support airworthiness certification of MCDA. You will bridge FAA Part 25 requirements with MIL-HDBK-516C, coordinating with government and prime contractors to ensure safe, on-schedule certification.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in propulsion certs, DER authorization, and DoD clearance preferences. Remote work with monthly travel to Dayton, OH is required; prior MIL-STD/DAR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of aircraft certification experience related to propulsion and FAA type certifications or STCs.
• Prior experience with military commercial derivative aircraft programs preferred.
• Tier 1 Investigation clearance for DoD contracts; security clearance preferred.
• FAA DER authorization in one or more disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME understanding of engine performance, installation, and integration with airframe.
• Serve as SME for aircraft certification, ensuring FAA/MIL-HDBK-516C compliance.
• Develop and execute certification plans for MCDA programs.
• Interface with military authorities and DER/DAR representatives to coordinate approvals.
• Identify and resolve certification gaps between civil and military airworthiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal certification processes and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
